The Coaching Program

Discovery & Engagement

During our initial sessions, we focus on getting to know each other and understanding your unique needs. This stage is about creating a safe, supportive space where you can openly explore your thoughts, feelings, and motivations for change. You will experience my compassionate and active listening and judgment free conversations. We will have clear communication to help you identify your values and goals!

We’ll narrow down the focus to specific areas in your life where you want to see change. Whether it’s health, relationships, or personal growth, we’ll hone in on what truly matters to you.We will explore your current habits and how they align with your long-term vision. I will provide you with some tools to help you clarify your priorities and set a clear direction.

Evoke Motivation

In this step, we work to uncover the deeper reasons behind your desire for change.  I’ll help you explore the pros and cons of your current behavior and how it matches your values. Through thought-provoking questions, you will uncover inner motivations . We will reflect through dialogue and explore any ambivalence about change.

Planning for Change

Here, we begin to create a personalized plan to help you move toward your goals. We use SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) to ensure that your progress is clear and manageable. Expect a collaborative plan that breaks down your goals into achievable steps. I’ll provide tailored strategies to help you overcome obstacles and stay committed.

Implement & Reinforce

As you start taking action, I’ll help you track your progress and reinforce positive behaviors. This is where we use behavioral modification techniques to replace old habits with new, healthier ones. You will progress through positive reinforcement strategies like self-rewards and acknowledgment of progress. We will go through various tools like environmental modifications to minimize triggers and reduce undesirable behaviors.

Overcome Setbacks

Change can be challenging, and setbacks are part of the process. If obstacles arise, we’ll address them together, using our sessions to re-engage your motivation and adjust the plan. You’ll receive compassionate guidance through challenges and moments of doubt. I’ll hold you accountable with compassion and stay judgment free, loving you unconditionally through your journey. With continued reflection on your progress, we will reaffirm your commitment to change.

Maintain & Thrive & Graduate

Once you’ve reached your goals, we’ll work on maintaining your progress. I’ll help you create a long-term plan to sustain the new habits you’ve formed and prevent relapse. I’ll be available for ongoing support, but my goal is to have you fly free and graduate from the program. You will now be able to self-monitor using tools to keep you on track. My goal is for you to fly free, and that you feel confident and capable in your new way of living.

What is Motivational Interviewing?

It’s a client-centered approach that helps individuals explore their own motivations for change. It involves:

  • Reflective listening: Listening actively and reflecting the person’s thoughts and feelings.
  • Eliciting change talk: Encouraging individuals to verbalize their reasons for change.
  • Ambivalence resolution: Helping clients resolve internal conflicts about changing behaviors.

How Does Behavioral Modification Work?

Behavioral modification focuses on reinforcing positive behaviors and eliminating negative ones. I have many tools in my toolbox. I offer them here so that you may assess whether you can go about your lifestyle transformation goals by yourself, or if having my support would be beneficial to you. 

SMART Goal Setting means we set Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. This method breaks down larger aspirations into smaller, manageable steps that provide structure and motivation.

Positive Reinforcement encourages it to be repeated. Reinforcements can include self-praise, rewards, or external acknowledgment (such as recognition from your coach) that make the new behavior more appealing.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps individuals recognize and change negative thought patterns that lead to undesirable behaviors. Key techniques include: Cognitive restructuring: Replacing irrational thoughts (words, phrases, and actions) with realistic positive ones. Exposure therapy: Gradual exposure to fears or triggers to desensitize and reduce avoidance behaviors.

Behavioral Activation involves encouraging people to engage in activities that they find meaningful or enjoyable to improve mood and motivation, particularly useful for individuals with depression or low energy.

Habit Stacking means linking a new habit with an existing one makes it easier to form the new behavior. For example, “After I brush my teeth, I will meditate for 5 minutes.”

Self-Monitoring, such as keeping a journal or using an app, increases self-awareness and accountability. This helps individuals recognize patterns and areas for improvement.

Environment Restructuring is altering physical or social environments to make the desired behavior easier or the undesired behavior harder. For instance, removing junk food from the house to reduce unhealthy eating habits.

Social Support reinforces positive behaviors. Group programs, accountability partners, or sharing progress with friends and family can motivate people to stay committed. This is another reason coaching is valuable!

Nudging towards a specific behavior, such as setting up reminders or default options that make the desired behavior easier, like automatic savings plans for financial goals.

Implementation Intentions involves setting specific “if-then” plans. For example, “If I feel stressed, then I will go for a walk instead of eating unhealthy snacks.”

Mindfulness and Stress Reduction help individuals become aware of their triggers and emotions without reacting impulsively. This allows them to make more conscious choices about their behavior.

How Much Does this Program Cost?

My coaching services are offered on a sliding scale, ranging from $14 to $150 per hour, depending on your financial situation. This ensures that coaching is accessible while also respecting the depth of transformation this work offers. We can discuss what feels sustainable for you during our initial consultation.
