UAP in the Bible
The Bible is full of fascinating accounts of mysterious lights and celestial beings interacting with humanity. Read on for a comprehensive overview!
Manifestations of Light and Heavenly Beings
The Bible is full of fascinating accounts of mysterious lights and celestial beings interacting with humanity. One well-known example is the star that guided the wise men to Jesus’ birthplace. Matthew 2:9 describes it:
“The star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.”
This star behaved unlike any celestial body we know today, moving purposefully to guide the wise men on their journey. It wasn’t just its movement that was significant but the way it centered on Jesus, a figure of profound spiritual importance.
This connection between mysterious lights and spiritually powerful individuals isn’t isolated to biblical accounts. Throughout history, similar phenomena have been linked to extraordinary figures. Saint Francis of Assisi, for instance, was afflicted by an intense case of rheumatism attributed to the presence of luminous orbs. Modern parallels can be found in people like Chris Bledsoe, whose encounters with orbs and UAP have drawn widespread attention. Visitors have traveled to see Bledsoe, hoping to witness these phenomena for themselves. The orbs seem drawn to individuals who exhibit profound spiritual resonance, suggesting a deep connection between these lights and human consciousness.
Ezekiel’s vision of the “wheels within wheels” is another stunning example. In Ezekiel 1:4, he describes,:
“I looked, and behold, a whirlwind was coming out of the north, a great cloud with raging fire engulfing itself; and brightness was all around it and radiating out of its midst like the color of amber, out of the midst of the fire… The appearance of the wheels and their workings was like the color of beryl, and all four had the same likeness. The appearance of their workings was, as it were, a wheel in the middle of a wheel” (Ezekiel 1:4, 16).
The imagery is otherworldly and vivid, capturing a moment of divine revelation. These wheels, covered in eyes and moving in harmony, echo descriptions found in modern testimonies of glowing, intelligent UAP-like phenomena. The ascension of Elijah is another UAP moment with those chariots of fire.
“Suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven” (2 Kings 2:11).
The Bible also describes angelic beings with great luminosity. Isaiah’s vision of the seraphim presents a striking picture:
Encounters with heavenly messengers often evoked fear, which is why angels frequently began their messages with words of reassurance. In Luke 2:8-10, shepherds tending their flocks were visited by an angel in a blaze of glory:
“An angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.’”
This account highlights the overwhelming presence of these beings and their calming intent despite the experiencer’s initial reaction to seeing something so anomalous.
Modern experiencers often have interactinons with extra-dimensional beings in their dreams. Many of the dreams contain valuable messages or premonitions. We can prove it for ourselves, but science is not able to verify this phenomenon due to various factors such as the problem of replicability and the role that the observer and consciousness plays in it. Here is an interesting passage from the bible of Jacob’s dream in Genesis 28:12 describes a stunning connection between heaven and earth:
“Behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.”
This image evokes the idea of a portal or a bridge, a pathway for divine interaction with the world. The ladder suggests an ongoing relationship between spiritual and physical realms. The orbs we are observing most certainly are interested in human activity, especially nuclear weaponry, and humanity’s spiritual development away from violence and towards peace and purification.
On the road to Damascus, Saul (later Paul) had a life-changing experience:
“As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?’” (Acts 9:3-4).
The intense light not only stopped Saul in his tracks but also transformed his entire purpose. Such luminous encounters are often described by modern experiencers as having profound spiritual impacts, but also ‘hearing a voice saying to him’ is likely not an auditory voice but a telepathic voice. Similarly, John’s vision in Revelation describes a voice speaking like a trumpet. It also offers a breathtaking glimpse of traveling between dimensions, which now we know is possible through practices such as the Gateway experience or Salvia Divinorum.
“I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, ‘Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.’ Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven… and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald” (Revelation 4:1-3).
During the Exodus, God’s presence was made known through a pillar of cloud and fire, which modern experiencers can also attest to. A few UAP reports suggest entities disguised as shape-shifting clouds.
“And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night” (Exodus 13:21-22).
The Watchers and the Nephilim
The Book of Enoch offers one of the most compelling accounts of celestial beings interacting with humanity. Though not included in the canonical Bible, the Book of Enoch was revered by early Jewish and Christian communities and remains part of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church’s scripture. Its exclusion from the Western Bible may have been due to its radical themes, including direct angelic intervention in human affairs, and its unsettling depiction of the consequences of forbidden knowledge.
In the Book of Enoch, the Watchers—angels tasked with observing humanity—descended to Earth and defied their divine purpose. They shared knowledge that humanity was not ready for, teaching the crafting of weapons, enchantments, cosmetics, and astrology. This influx of knowledge, while transformative, ultimately corrupted humanity. Enoch 10:11-12 describes their punishment: “The Lord said to Michael, ‘Go, bind Semjaza and his associates who have united themselves with women so as to have defiled themselves with them in all their uncleanness… Bind them fast for seventy generations in the valleys of the earth, till the day of their judgment.’” I mention this, because despite their banishment, some experiencers speculate that the Watchers may continue to influence humanity indirectly, particularly through spiritual or energetic means.
Empowerment Through Consciousness Evolution
Beyond the Book of Enoch, other non-canonical texts, such as the Gnostic Gospels, also offer unique perspectives on divine encounters. The Gospel of Thomas, for instance, emphasizes the inner divine spark within each person, resonating with the idea that we all have access to higher states of consciousness. This was perhaps kept out of the bible to maintain the externalized religion appropriate for the “age of Pisces,” but which has been outgrown during this dawning of the Age of Aquarius.
The Bible also warns of deception, particularly from beings like Satan, who is described as a master of disguise. In 2 Corinthians 11:14, it says,
“And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.”
This verse has led some Christians to view orbs of light and UAP phenomena with suspicion, believing them to be demonic. Chris Bledsoe, a modern experiencer, faced ostracism from his Christian community after sharing his encounters. Despite this, Bledsoe argues that the beings he interacted with performed healings and brought love and peace, which he sees as evidence of their benevolent nature. In Matthew 7:16, Jesus provides guidance for discernment:
“By their fruit you will recognize them.”
This principle reminds us to judge beings and their actions by the outcomes they produce—whether they lead to goodness, healing, and love, or harm and corruption.
The Transfiguration of Christ is one of the most profound moments in the New Testament, offering a glimpse into the luminous nature of existence. In Matthew 17:2, it is written:
“There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light.”
This event demonstrates that Christ’s physical form was not a limitation but a vessel for divine light.
This moment invites us to reflect on the nature of humanity itself. Are we merely physical beings, or is our essence something greater? Many spiritual traditions align with the idea that all of existence is light crystallized into form, shaped by consciousness. Jesus himself hinted at this potential for transformation, saying in John 14:12:
“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these.”
This suggests that through faith and spiritual growth, we too can access higher states of being and perhaps transcend the material world.
Stay Calm within the Storm
Everyone knows the Bible describes numerous signs of the end times, which unfortunately resonates with events in the modern world. In Matthew 24:6-7, Jesus warns:
“You will hear of wars and rumors of wars… Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.”
These warnings reflect global conflicts, natural disasters, and widespread suffering that have marked recent history. Some argue that it has always been so, but we can imagine that things are everchanging and may not always have been so, and may one day not be so anymore, especially if our goal is conscious and societal evolution towards a compassionate and just world, a heaven-on-earth, so to speak.
Corruption and moral decline are also highlighted as indicators of the end. In 2 Timothy 3:1-5, it says:
“But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive… having a form of godliness but denying its power.”
Even within spiritual communities, corruption can undermine the faith of many, making vigilance and discernment crucial.
Amid these warnings, the Bible offers hope. In 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, Paul writes:
“For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command… and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.”
This passage points to a moment of divine restoration, where believers are united with the divine and justice prevails.
Principles to Guide us
In Matthew 24:42, Jesus advises: “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.” Being aware of the signs and maintaining spiritual alertness is essential. Stay Vigilant and Discerning.
Proverbs 3:5 encourages: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” In uncertain times, relying on spiritual wisdom provides stability. Cultivate Faith and Trust.
In John 13:34, Jesus commands: “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” Demonstrating kindness and support strengthens communities. Practice Love and Compassion!
Romans 12:2 advises: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Personal growth and consciousness expansion are vital. Seek Inner Transformation.
Philippians 4:6 encourages: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Maintaining a spiritual practice fosters peace. Pray and Connect with the Divine.
Hebrews 13:16 reminds us: “And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.” Contributing positively to society is a meaningful response. Help Others and Do Good Works.
In Revelation 21:4, a promise is given: “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain.” This offers comfort that beyond present difficulties, there is a hopeful future. Remain Hopeful!
Each of us, regardless of the timing of these events, faces our own personal “end times.” Whether it comes at the culmination of history or the end of our individual lives, the guidance in the Bible remains timeless. Staying grounded in faith, practicing discernment, and striving for love and compassion prepare us for whatever lies ahead.
I have often heard believers say “God is Great.” I have begun meditating and praying, and my worldview has shifted so much in the last year because of this practice and the experiences that it engenders. Now I understand just how vast that greatness is. In the image of the “Geometry Of Dimensions” it looks complex but it’s a whole. Any single point of the picture is entirely unique, and seemingly individuated when you zoom in without being omniscient! The awfulness and awesomeness is incomprehensible. When it comes down to it, we can just do our best and then completely surrender to the power that is much greater than ourselves… or perhaps, get out of our own way and discover the power that IS our Selves.
