Meet Our Team

 Lead Caretaker

Emmy Fritz

Emmy holds a B.A. in Psychology and has spent 10 years working in Montessori classrooms. Her expertise in Montessori education seamlessly translates to eldercare, where she focuses on creating environments that are both orderly and enriching. By utilizing organizational principles, Emmy designs Montessori-inspired settings that support independent living for seniors. Beyond simple housekeeping, keeping the fridge stocked, laying out medications, and providing motivation for daily movement and exercises, Emmy will organize and enrich the environment at a comfortable pace for the client.

Understanding that changes in the environment can initially be distressing for elders, Emmy carefully implements these changes with sensitivity and respect. She employs Motivational Interviewing techniques to facilitate transitions, helping elders feel involved and comfortable with their new routines. This approach also aids in removing barriers to developing positive habits, ensuring that seniors can maintain their independence with minimal friction.

Emmy is also adept at supporting elderly individuals with dementia. She focuses on building strong, trusting relationships, recognizing that each person’s needs and preferences are unique. Her compassionate approach involves consistent and patient interaction, which helps create a sense of security and familiarity.

As a new caretaker, Emmy prioritizes relationship-building. She spends time getting to know each elder personally, understanding their histories, likes, and dislikes. This personalized approach enables her to provide tailored care that respects each individual’s dignity and preferences.

In her role as a caretaker, Emmy combines her psychological background, Montessori experience, and empathetic communication skills to create a nurturing and supportive environment for elders. Her goal is to enrich their lives, promote independence, and ensure they feel valued and understood every step of the way.

Additionally, Emmy has built a robust network of healers and caretakers who provide a wide range of complementary support services. This network includes experts in bodywork, nutrition, and energy healing, offering holistic care tailored to each individual’s needs. For those facing end-of-life challenges, Emmy collaborates with skilled death doulas and practitioners of end-of-life psychedelic therapy using psilocybin or DMT, helping clients address their fears and find peace. This comprehensive approach ensures that seniors receive compassionate, well-rounded support through every stage of their journey.

Nutritionist

Anastasia

Anastasia Fazal, founder of Luminous Raw and Luminous Collective leverages her personal health journey of recovering from rheumatoid arthritis at age 26. She has the knowledge and capacity to support the elderly in transforming their health through nutrition. After overcoming numerous health challenges through holistic practices, Anastasia became a certified plant-based nutritionist, detoxification expert, and yoga teacher. She uses her expertise in raw food, juicing, and holistic health to help people of all ages improve their well-being. Anastasia’s approach includes personalized nutrition plans, detoxification programs, and creative therapies such as art and yoga, fostering both physical health and emotional well-being for the elderly.

Recent research has suggested that Alzheimer’s disease, a common form of dementia, might be considered a “Type 3 Diabetes” due to the way insulin resistance affects the brain. This hypothesis stems from observations that insulin signaling in the brain plays a crucial role in cognitive function, and its disruption can lead to neurodegeneration.

Anastasia emphasizes the importance of diet and nutrition in preventing and potentially recovering from dementia. By reducing sugar intake, incorporating healthy fats like omega-3 fatty acids, and consuming antioxidant-rich foods, she supports brain health. She also advocates for a diet rich in whole foods, lean proteins, and healthy fats to support overall metabolic health. Regular meals help maintain stable blood sugar levels, reducing the risk of insulin resistance. Anastasia’s holistic approach aims to mitigate the risks associated with insulin resistance, offering protective benefits against dementia through a balanced and nutritious diet.

Music and Sound Enrichment

Ryan

Ryan uses music to enrich the lives of elders, helping to evoke positive memories and emotions. Sound healing and music therapy are closely related, both using the therapeutic properties of sound and music to promote well-being. Sound healing focuses on the use of specific instruments and frequencies to create a harmonious environment that can induce relaxation and alleviate stress. Instruments such as the Persian sitar, bells, bowls and digital sounds can be used. Music therapy, on the other hand, employs a broader range of musical activities, including exploring playing on a variety of instruments, listening to and talking about musical concepts, and exploring creative improvisation and songwriting. Stretching elders creativity and skillset will help them achieve therapeutic goals of well-being and peace. Together, sound healing and music therapy work synergistically to counteract stress and promote healing, with the underlying principle that relaxation can facilitate the body’s natural curing processes. Music fosters relaxation and relief, counteracting the stress that can lead to disease. His soft heart and strong spirit enable him to deliver a healing musical experience and compassionate care, promoting both emotional and physical well-being for the elderly. Through his collaborative efforts, Ryan ensures that relaxation becomes a pathway to healing, supporting the natural curing processes of the body.
